Lura – Learning Naturally is an environmental education and personal development space that invites children, families, and visitors to reconnect with nature, local traditions, and the rhythms of rural life.
Located on a family-run farm in the Algarve, Lura was created by Sara Braz Vítor, a teacher and specialist in Special Education, who transformed the place where she grew up into a welcoming space for learning, sharing, and well-being. The name "Lura" refers to an animal burrow — a safe and nurturing place where growth, discovery, and exploration can flourish.
The activities offered encourage direct contact with nature, animals, healthy food, and Algarve traditions. Through hands-on experiences, participants discover local flora and fauna, explore sustainable living practices, and gain a deeper understanding of the Mediterranean way of life.
More than simply teaching about nature, Lura seeks to foster curiosity, autonomy, responsibility, and respect for the environment. It is a place where different generations come together to learn, share experiences, and build meaningful connections with the land and with one another.
