The Calçadinha Interpretation and Visitor Centre of São Brás de Alportel, housed in the restored former Municipal Slaughterhouse, introduces visitors to the history of the Calçadinha and the municipality’s archaeological heritage. Through informative and interpretive materials, the Centre provides an insight into the importance of ancient Roman roads in the Algarve and the historical context for exploring the site.
The Centre is also the starting point for a 1,480-metre walking route along the Calçadinha, an ancient road of Roman origin where two sections of particular archaeological interest can still be seen. The Centre also promotes the knowledge and preservation of this heritage, bringing local archaeology and history closer to residents and visitors. encerrado aos domingos e segundas-feiras closed on Sundays and Mondays
