The Ermida de Santa Ana is one of the oldest religious buildings in Tavira, dating back to the early 14th century and originally associated with the Order of Santiago. In the 18th century, it was transformed into a private chapel integrated into the Palace of the Governor of the Algarve, acquiring new architectural features.
After a long period of abandonment, the building was restored and turned into a museum space in 2006. Today, in addition to preserving the memory of the former temple, the chapel also hosts cultural events, affirming itself as a place where heritage comes to life.
