Sabor do Sul, the brand of Pecoliva (founded in 1977), celebrates the authentic taste of the Algarve: unique olive oils and regional fig and arbutus brandies crafted with local heritage and ingredients.

Sabor do Sul is the signature brand of Pecoliva, Lda., an agro-food company established in 1977 after acquiring an existing olive mill from the 1940s in Sítio da Chibeira, São Brás de Alportel. Launched in 2010, the brand highlights olive oils made primarily from Maçanilha Algarvia olives — renowned for their unique aroma and flavour that appeal both nationally and internationally.

In addition to olive oil, the brand is known for its fig and arbutus (medronho) brandies, inspired by small-scale producers who delivered their fruits to the mill — giving rise to products with a true local identity.

In 2012, Pecoliva collaborated with Portuguese illustrator Nuno Saraiva, who created the brandy bottle labels with a distinctive artistic design that became one of the brand’s visual signatures.
